YOUR ACKNOWLEDGMENT IS REQUIRED BY FCC REGULATIONS. FAILURE TO ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF THIS INFORMATION MAY RESULT IN AN INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE.
The Federal Communications Commission has asked telephone service providers to make sure customers understand the E911 features and limitations of your IdeaTek Voice service (VoIP service.
E911 service automatically sends your telephone number and location to a 911 operator during the call. We register your location based on the address you provide to us during service initiation.
Please note that IdeaTek Voice E911 services will not function if the IdeaTek equipment fails. Additionally, E911 services will not function if your internet service is interrupted or not functioning for any other reason, including but not limited to:
- Any power outage (see our disclosure on battery backups))
- An IdeaTek network service outage;
- A network outage (including power outages) on your local network or router; or but not limited to,
- If your service is disconnected at your request or for non-payment of IdeaTek Voice charges.
If you are a multi-phone customer, please make sure every IdeaTek Voice user understands the circumstances under which E911 service may not be available. Make sure all users have received and comprehend our E911 service limitations.
Please also note in the event of a power failure your telephone service will not work without proper battery backup(s) to your internet connection equipment, your router, your local network and but not limited to, your phone(s). Power failures can interrupt 911 service and any home security or medical monitoring that relies on your telephone service. IdeaTek will provide battery backup services for a minimum of 8 hours upon request (charges apply).
