Discounted Service for Low-Income Households
Being connected is essential. And our mission of internet freedom for all means we think everyone should have access to fast, reliable internet and phone service and the opportunities it provides. That’s why we offer Lifeline discounts to qualifying low-income households in our service area.
What is Lifeline?
Lifeline is the FCC’s program to help make communications services more affordable for low-income consumers. Lifeline provides subscribers a discount on monthly telephone service, broadband internet service, or bundled voice-broadband packages purchased from participating wireline or wireless providers. The discount helps ensure that low-income consumers can afford 21st century broadband and the access it provides to jobs, healthcare, and educational resources.
The Lifeline discount may be used for voice or qualified broadband service, but not both. The discount for internet service is $5.25/month and phone service discount is $15.02/month.
What Service Is Offered?
All of our service plans can be used for the Lifeline program. The discount will apply to whatever service plan you choose. Get more information about our service plans here.
How Do I Qualify?
There are two ways to qualify:
OPTION 1 – Be a participant in at least one of the following governmental assistance programs:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps
- Medicaid
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Federal Public Housing Assistance (FHPA)
- Veterans Pension & Survivors Pension Benefit
- Tribal programs
You may qualify for this service through a child or dependent if one participates in any of the above programs.
OPTION 2 – Qualify by income level:
Customers must provide either three consecutive months of statements as documentation of income OR a copy of a tax return from the previous year.
How Do I Apply?
Step 1: Apply through one of the National Lifeline Verifier Applications.
You can either use the online application or the paper application to apply for the Lifeline discount through the National Verifier.
Online Form
If you use the online form at www.CheckLifeline.org, you may be required to upload documentation of your eligibility. Be sure to have images of those document ready for upload. You will receive your eligibility results for the Lifeline discount within a few minutes of completing the online form.
Paper Applications
If you use the paper application, please return completed forms along with copies of eligibility documentation to the Lifeline National Verifier at the address provided on the application. It can take multiple days for the Lifeline National Verifier to receive, review, and reply to your request for approval. Provided documentation will not be returned.

Step 2: Get approved. Applying online will give you results instantly. Applying on paper will delay the application process.
Step 3: Once approved, call us at 855-433-2835 and we will set you up with the Lifeline discount.
