Service Access and Requirements for ISP

  • Middle Mile Network Interconnection: ISPs can connect by accessing the middle mile network at designated network interconnection points.
  • Vault Access Points: Fiber access vaults are strategically placed at road intersections along the dark fiber path. For new fiber interconnections and circuit builds, a $5,000 interconnection cost applies.
  • PoP Connections: PoP sites provisioned with add-drop equipment are available for network integration. A $500 circuit setup fee is required for this option. Interconnection fees can be waived in certain hardship conditions, matters of economic priority for the state, etc.
  • Deploy Own PoP/Hand-Off Location: ISPs can use their own fiber to bring the network connections to their own PoP or hand-off location within the LIT services coverage area. Note: No additional fees apply if there is no construction needed on the delivery side.

Service Access and Requirements for ISP

  • Vault Access Points: Fiber access vaults are located at all road intersections along the Freestate dark fiber route. To establish connectivity, terminate a fiber tail at both “A” and “Z” location vaults. IdeaTek will splice it into your leased fiber for a $3,500 splice fee per access point.
  • Middle Mile Network Interconnection: Access the network by connecting at designated “A” and “Z” interconnection points.
