IdeaTek Acquires Rise Broadband Kansas Operations
BUHLER, Kansas – IdeaTek, a leading Kansas internet provider, has announced the acquisition of Rise Broadband’s Kansas operations. This move expands IdeaTek’s customer base in Marion, Harvey, Butler and McPherson counties.
IdeaTek is committed to providing high-speed internet to underserved communities. This acquisition aligns with IdeaTek’s mission to bring faster, more reliable internet service to more Kansas residents.
As part of the acquisition, IdeaTek will upgrade Rise Broadband’s network by transitioning towers to a 100% fiber-fed infrastructure. This upgrade will provide customers even more reliable and consistent connections. In addition, IdeaTek’s cutting-edge wireless technology will enhance internet performance, deliver fewer disruptions and provide a more stable connection.
“We will begin working immediately to upgrade and expand Rise’s network, which will significantly improve reliability and broadband capabilities for our new customers,” said Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer Daniel Friesen. “We believe every Kansan deserves access to affordable, reliable internet, no matter where they live. This acquisition brings us closer to that goal in central Kansas.”
The acquisition will enhance IdeaTek’s already robust fixed wireless and fiber network while providing more opportunities for new and existing internet customers. IdeaTek’s ultimate goal is to connect every home in Kansas with high-speed, affordable fiber-optic internet.
Celebrating its 25th year in business, IdeaTek was founded in 1999 by Daniel Friesen and four friends while attending Buhler High School. Today, the company employs over 160 Kansans and continues to grow. IdeaTek has deployed over 6,500 miles of fiber and built 150 fixed wireless towers, serving customers in 110 Kansas communities.
